Semester takes your Workday class schedule, your Blackboard due dates, Razorback games and the campus calendars you follow, and keeps all of it current on a set of Google Calendars it creates for you.
There is no password to make. Your Google account is the account, and the same button signs you in every time after.

Run it twice and nothing happens.
Every sync is a reconcile, not a re-import. Semester compares what should be on the calendar with what is, then changes only the difference. Events you added by hand are never touched, and syncing the same week twice reports zero changes because there were none.
When it does change something, it says what: how many events were added, updated and removed, and from which calendar.
Getting set up
Three things, then it runs itself.
Sign in with Google
One approval screen. Tick the calendar permission when Google asks — it is a separate checkbox, and without it Semester can sign you in but not build anything.
Answer nine short questions
Which teams, which campus calendars, your chapter, when you want reminders, and which look you want. Skip any of it; you can change all of it later.
Paste two links
Your class schedule copied out of Workday, and your Blackboard calendar link. That is the last manual thing — from then on it refreshes every morning on its own.
What it touches
It owns five calendars and ignores everything else.
Semester asks for one Google Calendar permission —
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.app.created — in order to
create new calendars in your Google Account and manage the events on those
calendars. It needs this because building your term is the product:
without it Semester cannot put a single class, due date or game on a calendar.
The permission does not reach any calendar Semester did not make. It also
receives your name, email address and profile picture, which is how it knows
which account is yours. What it does with all of that is set out in the
privacy policy.
What Semester does
- Creates its own calendars in your Google account, named for what they hold.
- Writes only to those. Every event it makes is tagged as its own.
- Asks Google for the narrowest permission that exists for this: make calendars, and manage events on the ones it made.
- Reads your Blackboard feed using the link you paste, to find due dates.
- Runs once each morning at a time you choose, or never, if you turn that off.
What it never does
- Touch your other calendars. It cannot — Google never grants it access to them.
- Open your Gmail inbox, your Drive files, your contacts, or your grades.
- Ask for a password. There isn't one to steal.
- Sell or share anything. Delete your account and its data goes with it.
Semester is a student project, not a company. Google's permission screen will tell you exactly what it is granting — permission to make calendars and manage events on the ones it made, plus your name, email address and profile picture so it knows which account is yours. Read it before you accept, the same as you would with anything asking for your calendar.
